SAP, the German-based ERP leading company has decided to heavily invest in the AI domain to keep up the AI race. With a boom in the AI world in 2024 most companies are doing their best to not be left behind in this race.
In an interview the SAP CEO, Christian Klein said in an interview that, $1.1 billion will be invested in new development, including enhancements to the Rise with SAP program for cloud migration. Also, it will impact nearly 8000 roles within the space but these will not be layoffs rather the roles will be recreated with more suitability to AI.
SAP also is encouraging its current on-premise customers to move to the cloud. As part of the initiative is the RISE with SAP program which is nothing but a program designed to help companies transition their SAP software systems from traditional on-premise setups to the cloud. It offers tools, support, and incentives to make the migration smoother and more beneficial for businesses.

Opinion
As an SAP SD consultant, I have a list of things that we as consultants can do to keep up with the organization's current pace and vision to not miss out on the AI party.
Upskill in the cloud branch on the SD module. For example SAP Sales Cloud.
You can take on the following learning hub course to get started in SAP Sales Cloud.
Take on any AI-related course that SAP launches to have a better understanding on the AI solutions and how can they be useful in the sales area.
