Let's Reflect-

Hello Readers,

It’s hard to believe that we are already 6 months in 2024. It feels like yesterday when I boarded that flight and moved to a different city away from home.

I feel happy about how my time has been spent in the last couple of months but still there is a lot more to improve. Though it is very lucrative and fun to list down things on which we have made progress or the improvements that we all make in different areas of our life and ofcourse we should feel good about it.

To be honest becoming an adult was going to be so hard, I never knew. The reality of life begins to dawn on me that I’m in this journey alone. As I continue to traverse my 20s I find, the more I’m closing to hitting 30 the more it becomes solitary.

As 2-year-old kid I never wanted to leave my mother’s lap than by 4-5 I had to leave it to run around the house. By 10-12 I wanted to be left all alone watching TV. Separation is a part of growing up.

Here are two books that I finished reading this year. It did help me optimize my certain strategies towards productivity and a healthier mind space. Both of them by the same author Cal Newport.

  • Digital Minimalism: The book focuses on the impact of excessive social media use and how to tackle it leading to more time to work on things and relationships that matters.

  • Deep Work : The book focuses on how doing something with full attention leads to bette quality results. It talks about different strategies used by distinct categories of people to incorporate deep work in their lives.

I did notice the online communities and people who are into the reading and writing space like blogs, books, and journalling are of a different quality than those of the majority who are stuck in the scrolling rabbit hole.

Anyway, from this Newsletter or blog my only purpose is to stay active in journaling and to organize my thoughts, and to keep writing.

Regards

Hamza
